Otherworldly Cappadocia. Magic land!

Hello from Cappadocia, or should we say wonderland? What a fantastic place lads, Ok, may be very touristy and crowded, but there is a reason behind, and its the absolute bizarre-beauty of its landscape. And if you scratch a bit from the surface, it is so easy to enjoy amazing walks and valleys for yourself.
The region is famous worldwide for its lunar-like landscape, with fairy chimneys of conical-pinnacle shapes and for primitive-dwellings, a kind of little houses burrowed into stone cliffs. Amazing work they did, believe us, a truly engineering marvel!! On top of that, they built loads of early-christian churches within the stones and painted frescos in them, some of them still visible! It is like being in the Flintstones land...
In some villages like Goreme, it is hard to see where starts the building and finishes the stone-cave, as some of the locals still use them as part of their houses. Here we based ourselves in a camping where the guy in charge is Iranian, good source of information for our next destination, with house-offered in Tehran! We have not even get there and we start to know what is the well known Iranian hospitality. Looking good! He is a refugee in Turkey and explained us, how bad is the government they have and that loads of people are against their extremist policies.
The reason why Cappadocia landscape is so unique is behind different volcano eruptions back who knows when! First came volcanic ashes with later lava flows. Year after year, the erosion wiped out the lava leaving the stunning formations that where wisely used by our ancestors to build up their homes.
Our days have gone by between many walks and rests under the shade, time to relax with a tea or orange juice or some chats with the locals, where any language is valid! Like one day when we were chatting with a shop-tender for one hour in french-catalan-english-turkish! Here the daily-rhythm is so different, no rush at all! Time is priceless, more than money...How true!
We started this post back on Wednesday and we are still here, 6 days so far and so good! We met two girls from Barcelona and shared a day with them driving around and visiting small villages and more rock formations. It was cool to get to know them and enjoy their company!
It seems that tomorrow will be the day that we will move from this fantastic place down south to visit some underground cities and the Ihlara Valley. It will be hard to leave this emmental-cheese paradise!
Cappadocia is one of those special-unique places that we have on earth, a truly magnificent place!
Full of positive energy we will follow our path east, always improvising and letting things happen as they come! All the best! Hugs and kisses!
