Hello family, from Esfahan, one of the most finest cities of the Islamic world! Tagged as "half of the world" is a true jewel of the Persian architecture, a master-price of their precision and good taste when it came to luxury and beauty.
Its Imam square, one of the biggest in the world is an absolute art gem, fantastic, no matter where you look at, with two exquisite mosques complementing each other, with amazingly refined tiles and mosaics and a perfect harmony between all the ingredients is really mind-blowing and captivates any one, inviting to just sit down and look for hours. The city also has an electric bazaar, very authentic where you can walk back to the past and enjoy exotic flavours and smells, re-discover jobs you thought were a long-way gone from earth, or just drink tea with the locals. The bazaar is underneath arched passageways, connecting different parts of the city and protecting the odd tourist and the locals from the fierce sun. Surrounding the main square there are different palaces, more mosques and a collection of ancient-bridges still doing their jobs. Really guys, Esfahan is one of those few cities of the world with something special, we really believe that one day, if the massive tourism arrives to Iran will be one of the most visited cities on earth.
We have been here almost five days, going from bridges to mosques, from the Bazaar to the palace or just hanging around the square where all happens. It is the heartbeat of the city, where locals go to see an to be seen, where families go for an evening picnic and where we met many people, again some of them truly genuine and pure and some of them carpet sellers... We got a few invitations, the coolest one for a walk on top of the city's adobe roofs. A privilege to see this marvel of the world from a different perspective!
Tomorrow we will head off to Yazd, a city on the boundary of the desert. For sure the heat will be even worst there, but hey, we can always do desert walk during the night...
All the best & spicy-kisses!
