Hi lads! We are back from the desert and with a bucket full of great experiences and unforgettable moments! At the end we made it to Nayban, an isolated village in the middle of the E-lut desert, 300Km away from Kerman. The journey was long but rewarded us with great glimpses of the pure emptiness of the desert and its impressive power. We travelled with Jan and again, our charismatic guide Mr. Vatani, altogether a great team and tones of good fun!In a way, going that far to an unknown place was a gamble, the only information we had was a couple of pictures and that is all. Most of the people were asking us why did we want to go that far, said that it was dangerous or worthless or crazy...But hey, that is all about no? a bit of gamble and tossing the coin!!! Sometimes, these unknown places, unvisited and unspoiled are more fulfilling and unique on the same time. And, definetely, Nayban will be one of our highlights in Iran, for many reasons, but mainly for its authenticity, beauty, isolation and people. In a way was like travelling back through time, the village is perched on a cliff towering above the desert and surrounded by palm trees, enhancing the oasis feeling. Its 300 inhabitants were extremely welcoming and offered us the mosque and its yard as the place to sleep and cook. So we did guys, we cooked a typically Spanish omelet and slept again under the stars. Next morning we enjoyed the walk around Nayban, it was like an open-air museum, with its mud-brick crumbling houses, narrow lanes, towers and qanats (ancient channels). Throughout all morning we had the best guides in town, a bunch of kids full of pure curiosity and charm. Yesterday we arrived in Shiraz, a city in the South-East and close to Persepolis, the great ruins of the Persian civilisation. And, hey, what a relieve lads, here the temps's just hit the mid 30's...Feeling kind of chilly after the desert...All the best!
